Fully Qualified SEND Teacher
Location: Islington
Salary: £170 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time
GSL Education’s London Branch is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher with QTS to join a supportive and dynamic school community in Islington. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they receive high-quality, personalised teaching.
Responsibilities of a SEND Teacher:
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that cater to students with diverse special educational needs.
- Plan, prepare, and adapt learning materials to support individual education plans (IEPs).
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing detailed feedback and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, external specialists, and school leaders.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and carers to support pupil development.
Requirements for a SEND Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous teaching experience within SEND settings or supporting pupils with SEND needs.
- Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Additional training in SEND (e.g., Autism, SEMH, MLD/SLD) is desirable but not essential.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
