Fully Qualified SEND Teacher

Location: Southwark
Salary: £170 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a dedicated Fully Qualified SEND Teacher (QTS) to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Southwark. If you are passionate about Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) teaching and committed to transforming the learning experience for children with diverse needs, this role could be an excellent opportunity for you.

Responsibilities for a SEND Teacher:

  • Deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of learners with SEND.
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with EHCPs, school guidelines, and national curriculum expectations where appropriate.
  • Assess, track, and record student progress, providing constructive and tailored feedback.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and emotional skills alongside academic learning.

Requirements of a Fully Qualified SEND Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Prior experience working with children with SEND is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in SEND teaching (desirable but not essential).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
