Salary: £88 – £130 per day

GSL Education are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Autism Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Chelmsford. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
The Role
As an Autism LSA, you will provide tailored support to students with Autism, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life and communication skills. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a structured and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with Autism.

Assist with implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.

Support communication strategies such as visual timetables and structured routines.

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Help students build confidence, independence, and social skills.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism or SEND (school, care, or youth setting).

Understanding of strategies to support sensory and communication needs.

Calm, patient, and adaptable approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Commitment to safeguarding and child protection (enhanced DBS on the update service required).
