Job Title: Design Technology Teacher
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

Are you a creative and practical Design Technology Teacher who enjoys helping students develop real-world design and making skills?

Schools in Barnsley (S70, S71) and GSL Education are searching for a skilled Design Technology Teacher to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons.

As a Design Technology (DT) Teacher, you will support students in developing design ideas, practical construction skills, and problem-solving abilities through hands-on projects. You will create a positive learning environment where students can confidently work with materials, tools, and design processes.

Key Duties:

  • Plan and deliver practical and creative design technology lessons.
  • Teach safe and effective use of equipment and materials.
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly.
  • Encourage innovation, independence, and technical understanding.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and workshop safety.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design Technology in a school setting.
  • Strong classroom and practical workshop management skills.
  • Good communication and organisational abilities.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
