About the Role

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages, supporting students in developing literacy, analytical, and communication skills. You will play a vital role in raising attainment, preparing students for examinations, and nurturing confidence in both written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners

  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and high expectations

  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations and internal assessments

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and share best practice

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for literature and language

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
