Job Title: Cover Supervisor / Cover Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Day-to-Day / Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate
GSL Education are looking for dependable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors / Cover Teachers to join secondary schools across Barnsley. You’ll be supporting students and helping lessons run smoothly when regular teaching staff are unavailable.
This is an ideal role for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or anyone with excellent classroom management skills who enjoys working with young people and making a positive impact on their learning.
What the Role Involves

Taking responsibility for whole classes during teacher absence

Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects

Keeping students engaged and maintaining a structured, positive classroom environment

Managing behaviour in line with school policies

Assisting students with learning tasks as needed

Reporting on student progress and classroom activity to teaching staff

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in schools or educational settings

Ability to manage classroom behaviour independently
