Job Title: Cover Supervisor / Cover Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Day-to-Day / Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are looking for confident and reliable Cover Supervisors / Cover Teachers to work across secondary schools in Sheffield. In this role, you will ensure lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged during the absence of teaching staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or anyone with strong behaviour management skills who enjoys working with young people and supporting their learning.

About the Role

  • Supervise whole classes in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects

  • Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Support students with learning activities when required

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people or within an educational setting is desirable

  • Confidence managing classroom behaviour independently

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Adaptable, proactive, and professional approach

  • Genuine interest in education and supporting student learning

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
