Job Title: SEMH Support Worker
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Payrate:
£110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are hiring a compassionate SEMH Support Worker to join a school in Dinnington (S25). The Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Support Worker will work closely with students who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges, providing structured support throughout the school day.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management at all times.
  • Willing to implement physical and verbal de-escalation strategies when required (training provided).
  • Support students in regulating emotions and engaging with learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral teams.
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and contribute to a safe learning environment.

Requirements of SEMH Support Worker:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Calm, confident, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
