Job Title: SEMH Tutor
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Payrate: £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
Do you have experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and the confidence to manage challenging behaviour?
GSL Education are seeking a resilient and dedicated Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Tutor to work in Dinnington (S25), providing tailored support to students who require additional guidance to engage in learning.
As an SEMH Tutor, you will deliver structured sessions that support both academic progress and emotional development, helping students build confidence, self-regulation skills, and positive behaviour patterns within a safe and supportive setting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions to students with SEMH needs.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management at all times.
- Be willing to implement physical and verbal de-escalation when required – training provided for this.
- Build positive and consistent relationships to support engagement and progress.
- Work closely with staff to follow behaviour and support plans.
Requirements of SEMH Tutor:
- Previous experience working with SEMH students or within an alternative provision setting.
- Strong behaviour management and resilience.
- Willingness to undertake and implement physical and verbal de-escalation training.
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
