GSL Education are seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in a supportive school in Middlesbrough.
In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged with the work set by the teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain classroom experience in a school setting.
Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise Classes: Manage classroom activities during teacher absence and help students stay on task.
- Deliver Pre-Prepared Work: Follow lesson plans and ensure students complete the assigned tasks.
- Maintain Behaviour Standards: Promote positive behaviour and uphold school policies.
- Support Learning: Assist students with their work and encourage participation in lessons.
- Ensure Classroom Safety: Maintain a calm, respectful, and organised learning environment.
- Provide Feedback: Report any important information regarding student behaviour or progress to school staff.
- Work as Part of a Team: Collaborate with teachers and support staff to support the wider school community.
Requirements of the Cover Supervisor:
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people in a school or educational environment is desirable.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence: Ability to manage a classroom professionally and respond calmly to situations.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively.
- Reliability: Available to work on a flexible or full-time basis if required.
- DBS: An enhanced DBS check registered to the update service (or willingness to apply).
