Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistants
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time 

Support students who require additional emotional and behavioural guidance by helping them engage positively with learning and school life!

GSL Education are hiring compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistants to join schools in Dinnington (S25). The Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistants (SEMH TA) will work with students who may experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges, providing consistent and patient support throughout the school day.

Main Duties of SEMH Teaching Assistants:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Support behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Help students regulate emotions and engage with classroom activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and maintain a safe learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Calm, resilient, and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
