Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are hiring a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with schools across Sheffield, including the S2 and S3 areas, supporting students who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to help students manage their behaviour, stay engaged in learning, and build confidence in a safe and structured environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Help students regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies.
- Support classroom learning and ensure students remain focused and engaged.
- Build positive relationships based on trust and consistency.
- Assist with implementing behaviour and support plans.
Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
