SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Tower Hamlets (3 miles max)
Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience) 
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education’s London Branch is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a friendly and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets. About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide personalised support to pupils with a variety of SEN needs, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum and develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO, you will help deliver effective strategies that promote positive learning outcomes. This is a rewarding role where your contribution can have a meaningful impact on a child’s educational journey.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in delivering and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage student confidence, independence, and social interaction.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SEN team to foster an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support positive behaviour management and emotional well-being.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting learning in varied settings.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
