Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Location: Birmingham

Pay rate: £90-£95 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Time: Hours 8.30 am – 3.30 pm – Monday to Friday.

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are hiring a compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a school in Birmingham. The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with students who require Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Prime Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH.
  • Assist teachers in adapting learning resources and activities.
  • Support behaviour management and positive engagement in lessons.
  • Help students build confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures at all times.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN needs, especially with SEMH needs.
  • Patient, caring, and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
