Job Title: Trainee Teacher
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £100 – £150 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

Are you an aspiring teacher eager to gain valuable classroom experience?

If so, GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Teachers to work across schools in Newcastle.

As a Trainee Teacher, you will gradually take on increased classroom responsibility, supporting lesson delivery and building confidence in behaviour management and assessment. This role is ideal for graduates, career changers, or individuals currently undertaking teacher training who are looking to develop their teaching skills in a supportive school environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons
  • Lead small group sessions and whole-class activities under guidance
  • Assist with classroom management to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Provide targeted support to pupils who require additional help
  • Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to class teachers
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Participate in staff meetings and CPD opportunities
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

For this Trainee Teacher role, you must have:

  • A degree in a relevant subject
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in teaching or on the way to become a teacher
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence working with children or young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
