Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time | Long-term | 5 days per week

Are you a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher looking for a full-time role in a supportive school environment?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to work 5 days per week in secondary schools across Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a great opportunity to deliver high-quality science education and help students achieve strong academic outcomes.

About the Role:

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, teaching Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics depending on your specialism. You will assess pupil progress, provide feedback, and maintain a well-managed, inclusive classroom.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics to secondary students

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress with constructive feedback

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom

  • Work collaboratively with departmental and school teams

  • Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding

  • Confident classroom management and communication skills

  • Available 5 days per week

  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to student success

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
