Behaviour Mentor

Location: Birmingham (B12)
Salary Range: £110 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP
Contract: Full-time

If you thrive in a school environment and have a natural ability to support students through challenges, GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic specialist school in Birmingham (B12).

About the School

This independent specialist school supports students aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school delivers personalised learning based on each student’s EHCP, helping them develop essential academic and life skills for long-term success.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students regulate emotions and improve behaviour. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will promote positive behaviour strategies and ensure students feel supported throughout their educational journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural needs

  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and support staff

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback

  • Promote positive behaviour across the school day

Requirements

  • Experience within an SEN or SEMH setting (preferred)

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Patience, resilience and empathy

  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
