Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Wakefield (WF4)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teacher to work with a school in Wakefield (WF4), supporting students who require additional guidance with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs, helping students build confidence, develop positive behaviour strategies, and achieve their academic potential in a safe and supportive classroom.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured and adapted lessons to meet SEMH student needs.
  • Support students in managing behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Create a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Work closely with staff to support safeguarding and pastoral care.

Requirements of SEMH Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and supportive teaching approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
