About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support that enhances their learning, engagement, and personal development. You will contribute to a positive and structured environment that encourages students to achieve their potential.
Responsibilities:
- Implement personalised learning plans and support strategies tailored to the unique needs of each student, fostering independence and personal growth.
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that builds trust and positive relationships with students.
- Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary staff to provide comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, activities, and interventions.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, and eating when required, upholding dignity and respect.
- Support students’ engagement with learning activities using effective communication techniques.
- Contribute to behaviour management and the promotion of positive social interactions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEMH Support Worker, or similar role is preferred.
- Understanding of SEMH needs and evidence-based support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting student development.
