Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Focus
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant with a secondary focus, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will provide in-class assistance, small group interventions, and one-to-one support for students who require additional help with their learning, behaviour, or engagement.

Responsibilities:
• Provide in-class support to students across a range of secondary subjects, ensuring they remain engaged and on task.
• Deliver targeted interventions to individuals or small groups to support academic progress.
• Assist teachers in adapting resources and lesson materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Support students with additional learning needs, including SEND, SEMH, or literacy and numeracy gaps.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a focused, respectful classroom environment.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCO where required.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and motivation in learners.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students in a school or similar setting is desirable.
• A strong understanding of supporting learners with additional needs.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting young people.
