Science Teacher

Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: £120 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: April 2026

This full-time Teacher of Science role offers flexibility on a long-term basis and is ideal for an educator passionate about helping students achieve their full potential across Key Stages 3 and 4.

As a Science Teacher, you’ll be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring lessons are engaging, challenging, and inclusive.
  • Prepare lesson materials, mark work, and assess student progress effectively.
  • Maintain strong classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student achievement, providing constructive feedback to support progress.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.
  • Uphold safeguarding, curriculum, and assessment policies at all times.

To be considered for the Science Teacher role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have substantial, relevant UK teaching experience.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Science in schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
  • Be available for a full-time commitment in Maidstone.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
