Science Teacher
Location: Maidstone, Kent
Salary: £120 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

This full-time Teacher of Science role offers flexibility on a long-term basis and is ideal for an educator passionate about helping students achieve their full potential across Key Stages 3 and 4.

As a Science Teacher, you’ll be expected to:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring lessons are engaging, challenging, and inclusive.
- Prepare lesson materials, mark work, and assess student progress effectively.
- Maintain strong classroom management and foster a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and track student achievement, providing constructive feedback to support progress.
- Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.
- Uphold safeguarding, curriculum, and assessment policies at all times.
To be considered for the Science Teacher role, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have substantial, relevant UK teaching experience.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Science in schools.
- Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
- Be available for a full-time commitment in Maidstone.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
- Right to work in the UK.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
