We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and child‑centred Part‑Time SENCO to join our supportive and forward‑thinking school team and work alongside another SENCO. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and coordinating provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.

£160-£300+ per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school

  • Coordinating and overseeing support for pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH, and physical needs

  • Working closely with teachers to ensure high‑quality, inclusive classroom practice

  • Managing and updating SEND records, provision maps, and EHCP documentation

  • Carrying out assessments, observations, and monitoring of pupil progress

  • Liaising with external agencies, including Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, and specialist services

  • Supporting staff through training, guidance, and modelling effective strategies

  • Meeting with parents and carers to discuss progress, concerns, and next steps

  • Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice

  • Contributing to whole‑school safeguarding and inclusion practices

 

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it

  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

  • Experience supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills

  • A compassionate, solution‑focused approach to supporting children and families
