We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and child‑centred Part‑Time SENCO to join our supportive and forward‑thinking school team and work alongside another SENCO. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and coordinating provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Position: SENCO - part time (3 days)
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Salary: £160-£300+ per day
Contract Type: Part time (3 days)
Key Responsibilities

Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school

Coordinating and overseeing support for pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH, and physical needs

Working closely with teachers to ensure high‑quality, inclusive classroom practice

Managing and updating SEND records, provision maps, and EHCP documentation

Carrying out assessments, observations, and monitoring of pupil progress

Liaising with external agencies, including Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, and specialist services

Supporting staff through training, guidance, and modelling effective strategies

Meeting with parents and carers to discuss progress, concerns, and next steps

Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice

Contributing to whole‑school safeguarding and inclusion practices
About You

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it

Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice

Experience supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs

Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
