Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time | Long-term | 5 days per week

Are you a qualified and committed Science Teacher looking for a full-time role in a supportive and well-structured school environment?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to work full-time (5 days per week) in secondary schools across Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality science education and support students in achieving strong academic outcomes.

About the Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students’ understanding of scientific concepts and practical skills. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and classroom management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics depending on specialism

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback

  • Maintain a positive, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with departmental and wider school teams

  • Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding

  • Confident classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to commit to 5 days per week

  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to student achievement

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
