Pay rate: £100 - £130 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in a busy and supportive school in Newcastle. This is a full-time role requiring commitment to working five days per week.
In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task and follow lesson plans provided. You will play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting students’ progress.
Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise Classes: Manage classroom activities during teacher absence while ensuring students stay focused.
- Deliver Pre-Prepared Work: Follow lesson plans and support students in completing assigned tasks.
- Maintain Classroom Behaviour: Promote positive behaviour and uphold school policies.
- Support Learning: Assist students with their work and encourage engagement in lessons.
- Ensure Safety: Create a calm, respectful, and safe classroom environment.
- Report Feedback: Provide brief feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour.
- Work as Part of a Team: Collaborate with school staff to support the wider school community.
Requirements of the Cover Supervisor:
- Experience: Previous experience working with young people in a school or education setting is desirable.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence: Ability to manage a classroom and respond calmly to situations.
- Organisational Skills: Able to follow instructions and manage time effectively.
- Reliability: Must be available to work five days per week.
- DBS: An enhanced DBS check registered to the update service (or willingness to apply).
