Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Focus
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £600 per week
Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day
Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting young people in a secondary school setting? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide targeted academic and pastoral support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant with a secondary focus, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support students who require additional help with their learning. You may work one-to-one or with small groups, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive engagement in lessons.

Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary-aged students, helping to reinforce learning objectives and build confidence.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Support students with additional needs, including SEN, SEMH, or those requiring academic intervention.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a focused, respectful classroom environment.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Encourage independence, resilience, and active participation in learning.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting is desirable.
• A good understanding of the secondary curriculum.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
