Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Hackney
Salary: £185 – £265 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: May 2026
Contract Type: Long-term (until July 2026)
Are you an enthusiastic Geography Teacher available for a long-term role starting in May 2026?
GSL Education are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a secondary setting in Hackney through to the end of the academic year in July 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who can deliver engaging Geography lessons, support strong academic progress, and maintain high classroom standards across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, preparing students for GCSE examinations
- Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback
- Use data to inform planning and implement targeted interventions
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of SEND, EAL and high-attaining students
- Maintain strong classroom management and high expectations for behaviour
- Contribute to departmental planning and resource development
- Support revision sessions and exam preparation activities
- Participate in parents’ evenings and relevant whole-school events
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are consistently upheld
Geography Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Degree in Geography or a related subject
- Experience in working as a Geography Teacher across UK secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of GCSE requirements
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
