Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teacher of Sociology to join a globally-minded independent school at their Canterbury campus. This is a full-time, long-term supply position starting ASAP. The selected Teacher of Sociology will be responsible for delivering high-quality Sociology lessons, predominantly to students at Key Stage 5, fostering an environment of academic rigour and intellectual curiosity.

As a Sociology Teacher, you will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, thought-provoking Sociology lessons to Key Stage 5 students.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations and higher education.
- Take full responsibility for marking, assessment, and tracking student progress.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages debate and discussion.
- Adhere to school policies regarding safeguarding, assessment, and curriculum delivery.
In order to be considered for this Sociology Teacher role, the candidate must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have substantial, relevant experience teaching Sociology at A-Level or IB.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to engage and challenge students in a high-performing setting.
- Possess a deep understanding of sociological theories and contemporary social issues.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
- Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
