Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply)
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type: Day-to-day/ Long-term, Full-time/ Part-time
Can you support children with special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential?
GSL Education are searching for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs in schools across Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
