Job Title: SEMH Intervention specialist
Location: Dinnington (S25)
Payrate: £110+ per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

Schools in Dinnington (S25) and GSL Education are recruiting a compassionate Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Intervention Specialist to provide consistent academic and emotional support to pupils requiring additional guidance.

As an SEMH Intervention Specialist, you will support students with challenges in emotional regulation, behaviour, and learning engagement. Your role is to deliver targeted interventions, build positive relationships, and equip pupils with the skills to succeed in and beyond the classroom.

Key Duties of SEMH Intervention Specialist:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who need structured emotional support.
  • Deliver tailored SEMH interventions on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Support students during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times.
  • Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies set by the school.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress.
  • Promote resilience, independence, and positive coping strategies.

Requirements of SEMH Intervention Specialist:

  • Previous experience working in an SEMH, behaviour, or pastoral support role.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
