Job Title: Graduate Cover Supervisor
Location: Darlington
Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time
Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching?
GSL Education are currently seeking confident and enthusiastic Graduate Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Darlington.
This role is ideal for graduates considering teacher training who want to develop classroom management skills and gain first-hand experience in a school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
- Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain on task
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
- Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional needs
- Promote a positive and focused learning environment
- Assist with general school duties where required
Requirements:
- A degree in any subject
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence leading a classroom independently
- Ability to manage behaviour effectively and fairly
- Adaptable, proactive, and professional approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
