Job Title: Learning Support Mentor
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £90 – £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time | Part-time | Long-term & Day-to-day

GSL Education are currently recruiting Learning Support Mentors to work in primary, secondary, and specialist settings across Stockton-on-Tees. Our client,  is a diverse and inclusive trust comprising mainstream primary and secondary schools, as well as specialist settings. About the Role 

As a Learning Support Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may face learning, behavioural, or emotional challenges. You will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support, helping students build confidence, re-engage with education, and develop positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group learning support

  • Support pupils with academic, emotional, and behavioural needs

  • Help students remain engaged and motivated in lessons

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams

  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and wellbeing

  • Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable)

  • A patient, calm, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to motivate and support learners with diverse needs

  • Flexible and reliable, able to adapt to different school environments

  • No formal teaching qualification required

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
