Are you a Sports Coach, Personal Trainer, or Fitness Professional considering a move into education? Schools across Sheffield highly value the leadership, confidence, and behaviour management skills developed through sports and coaching backgrounds.

We are seeking motivated individuals from sports and fitness environments to support schools as Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors. While there may occasionally be sport-focused roles, most placements will involve classroom support and supervising pre-planned lessons.

About the School:
You will be placed in supportive and forward-thinking schools that promote inclusion, respect, and high standards of behaviour. These schools emphasise teamwork, structured routines, and positive reinforcement to help students succeed both academically and personally. Staff collaborate closely to maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment, and strong role models are essential to their success.

About the Role:
Depending on school needs, you will either assist teachers within lessons as a Teaching Assistant or lead classes as a Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-set work in the teacher’s absence. Your coaching background will be invaluable in establishing authority, motivating students, and maintaining clear expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide classroom support across different subjects and year groups
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons confidently when covering classes
• Maintain effective behaviour management in line with school policies
• Promote teamwork, resilience, and active participation
• Offer pastoral guidance and encouragement to students
• Serve as a positive and professional role model

Requirements:
• Experience in Sports Coaching, Personal Training, or a related field
• Previous experience working with young people (preferred but not essential)
• Confidence leading groups and managing behaviour
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach

Why Apply?
• Excellent opportunity to transition into education
• Flexible long-term and day-to-day roles available
• Clear pathway towards permanent school positions
• Gain valuable classroom and leadership experience
