Job Title: Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Manager
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £130 – £150 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time | Long-term | Temp-to-Perm

Are you an experienced SEND professional with a strong understanding of inclusion, leadership, and statutory SEND processes?

GSL Education are seeking a confident and knowledgeable Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Manager to work within schools and specialist settings across Middlesbrough. This is a key leadership role supporting inclusive practice, compliance, and positive outcomes for pupils with SEND.

About the Role:

As a SEND Manager, you will oversee the coordination and delivery of SEND provision, ensuring pupils receive appropriate, high-quality support. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, families, and external agencies to promote inclusion and improve outcomes for learners with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the setting

  • Oversee EHCP processes, reviews, and compliance

  • Ensure effective identification, assessment, and support for pupils with SEND

  • Support and advise staff on inclusive strategies and interventions

  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals

  • Monitor progress, provision impact, and statutory documentation

  • Contribute to whole-school inclusion and safeguarding practices

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a SEND leadership or management role

  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs, and statutory frameworks

  • Experience working with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

  • A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education
