About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with additional learning needs, working closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised plans. You will play a vital role in promoting engagement, building positive relationships, and helping students access the curriculum effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, ensuring individual learning needs are met.
• Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised support strategies.
• Support classroom teachers in delivering structured and engaging lessons.
• Promote positive behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
• Encourage students’ academic progress, social development, and independence.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is desirable.
• Understanding of a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students.
• Ability to adapt to the individual needs of learners.
