About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning and upholding the school’s high standards of behaviour and achievement.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring a focused and productive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and instructions clearly, following the school’s curriculum and policies.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s behaviour management procedures.
• Support students with their learning, answering questions and providing guidance where appropriate.
• Report back to teaching staff on student engagement, progress, and any behavioural concerns.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence in leading a classroom and engaging students across different year groups.
• Ability to adapt quickly and remain calm under pressure.
• A proactive and professional approach to supporting learning.
