Job Title: Sports Coach Background – Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £460 – £650 per week
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term / Day-to-Day

We are currently recruiting individuals from sports and fitness backgrounds to work in schools across Sheffield as Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors. While occasional sports-based roles may become available, most opportunities will involve classroom-based support or supervising lessons in the absence of a teacher.

About the Role
In this varied role, you may support students in lessons as a Teaching Assistant or deliver pre-set work as a Cover Supervisor. Your coaching experience will be highly valuable in maintaining classroom control, building strong relationships, and motivating pupils to stay focused and engaged.
Key Responsibilities
• Support students across a range of subjects and year groups
• Deliver pre-planned lessons as a Cover Supervisor when required
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
• Encourage active participation and positive engagement
• Provide guidance and targeted support to individuals or small groups
• Act as a strong, positive role model within the school community
Requirements
• Background in Sports Coaching, Fitness Training, or a similar field
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable)
• Confidence in leading and managing groups
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptable, proactive, and professional approach
