About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver interventions, assist with daily routines, and help students access the curriculum effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Implement personalised support plans to meet the individual needs of each student.
• Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages trust and engagement.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure comprehensive student support.
• Monitor and record student progress, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Assist with daily routines, personal care, and hygiene where required.
• Support students in engaging fully with classroom activities and social interactions.
• Use effective communication strategies to encourage participation and confidence.
Qualifications:
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEMH Support Worker, or similar role is preferred.
• Understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to the varying needs and behaviours of students.
• A compassionate, patient, and supportive approach to helping students thrive.
