About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task and complete pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning and upholding high behavioural standards within the classroom.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students complete pre-set work in a focused and productive manner.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Provide clear instructions and guidance to students, supporting them with their learning where required.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
• Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour, and any issues arising during the lesson.
• Adapt confidently to different subjects, age groups, and classroom settings as needed.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional under pressure.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
