Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Autism & ADHD Support

GSL Education Manchester is proud to be working in partnership with a warm and welcoming Primary School in North Manchester, seeking a dedicated Year 3 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism and ADHD.

This is a long-term, full-time role providing consistent 1:1 support within the classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil feels secure, understood, and fully supported in accessing learning.

About the Role:

You will provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil who benefits from:

  • Clear routines and structured transitions

  • Support with focus, attention, and emotional regulation

  • Adapted learning tasks and differentiated instruction

  • Positive behaviour reinforcement strategies

  • A calm and consistent adult presence

The role requires someone who understands that behaviour is communication and can respond with patience, structure, and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 classroom support in Year 3

  • Implement Autism and ADHD-informed strategies

  • Support emotional regulation and sustained attention

  • Adapt learning activities to increase engagement and independence

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism and/or ADHD

  • Understanding of behaviour management and structured support approaches

  • A calm, nurturing, and resilient attitude

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust

  • Experience in KS2 (desirable but not essential)

This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, SEN practitioners, behaviour mentors, or those with a background in youth or specialist support work.
