Key Responsibilities of the Secondary English Teacher:

Planning, teaching, and assessing the English curriculum across KS3 and KS4.

Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons as a Secondary English Teacher.

Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching to support attainment.

Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives.

Promoting literacy, independence, and a positive learning culture.
The Ideal Secondary English Teacher Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Have a degree in English or a related subject.

Have experience working as a Secondary English Teacher in a school setting.

Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Be proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to pupil progress.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
