SEMH Teacher
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £120 – £220 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time
A specialist provision in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join their supportive team. This SEMH Teacher role involves working with pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, providing a structured and nurturing learning environment.
The successful SEMH Teacher will be confident managing behaviour, building positive relationships, and adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs. This position is ideal for an experienced SEMH Teacher or a strong classroom practitioner looking to transition into a specialist setting.
Key Responsibilities of the SEMH Teacher:

Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.

Creating a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment.

Managing behaviours that are challenging using positive strategies.

Working closely with pastoral teams and support staff.

Monitoring progress and adapting learning to meet individual targets.

Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.
The Ideal SEMH Teacher Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Have experience working as an SEMH Teacher or supporting pupils with additional needs.

Demonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

Be patient, resilient, and committed to pupil progress.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

Have a fully checkable work history.
