Cover Supervisor
Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £100 – £130 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time
A supportive and forward-thinking school in Middlesbrough is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their team. This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is confident managing a classroom in the absence of the class teacher.
The successful Cover Supervisor will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain classroom behaviour, and ensure pupils remain engaged with their learning. This position is well suited to graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school support staff looking to gain further classroom experience as a Cover Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.

Delivering pre-set work and ensuring pupils remain on task.

Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Supporting pupils with questions related to the set work.

Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons covered.

Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Cover Supervisor Will:

Have previous experience working in a school setting (desirable).

Be confident leading a classroom independently as a Cover Supervisor.

Have strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Be adaptable, proactive, and professional.

Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

Have a fully checkable work history.
