Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Barnsley (S70, S71)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract type -Day-to-day supply

GSL Education are searching for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs in schools across Barnsley, including the S70 and S71 areas.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
