Tutor
Location: Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: March 2026 or sooner
Contract: Flexible, Part-Time, Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £26 – £33 per hour
GSL Education is looking for qualified Teachers, both Primary and Secondary, to deliver 1:1 tuition to students unable to access mainstream education. GSL Education has been supporting schools and local authorities to provide education to students who cannot access school, for over 5 years within the East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull.
As a Tutor, you will:
- Deliver personalised 1:1 lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs and ability.
- Plan and adapt engaging sessions in line with the national curriculum
- Support students with additional needs, including SEMH, SEND, or those out of school for medical reasons.
- Build positive, trusting relationships to re-engage students with learning.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to parents, schools and local authorities.
- Complete session reports and maintain accurate records of attendance and attainment.
- Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
As the Ideal Tutor, you will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Have experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
- Be adaptable, patient and confident working independently.
- Have strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
