About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, maintain classroom order, and ensure students remain on task. This is a key role in maintaining continuity of education and supporting the wider school community.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver pre-set lessons and ensure students remain engaged and on task throughout the session.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
• Provide clear instructions and support to students across a range of subjects.
• Respond appropriately to any questions or issues that arise during lessons.
• Report back to teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and promote a safe learning environment at all times.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confidence in leading a class and maintaining a structured environment.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different subjects and year groups.
• A proactive, professional, and flexible approach to work.
