Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: £460 - £600 per week (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to recruit a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant for schools across the S2 and S3 areas of Sheffield.

As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them engage positively with their learning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in implementing behaviour and support plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Support teachers in maintaining a structured and inclusive classroom.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
