Location: Darlington
Pay rate: £90 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are searching for dedicated and compassionate SEN Support staff to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in Darlington.
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support member, you will assist students with additional learning needs, helping them engage with lessons and achieve their personal best. You will create a supportive and structured environment that fosters confidence and independence.
Responsibilities of the SEN Support:
- Assist Students: Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with special educational needs.
- Implement Learning Plans: Follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt lessons to meet specific needs.
- Promote Inclusion: Support students in accessing the full curriculum alongside their peers.
- Monitor Progress: Observe and report on students’ development, behaviour, and engagement.
- Classroom Support: Aid the teacher in managing the classroom and preparing learning resources.
- Encourage Independence: Help students develop skills to work confidently and independently.
- Support Wellbeing: Foster a positive and caring environment, attending to emotional and social needs.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure consistent care.
Requirements of the SEN Support:
- Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills to interact effectively with students and staff.
- Patience and Empathy: Ability to understand and respond to the diverse needs of students.
- Organisational Skills: Capable of following lesson plans and maintaining records accurately.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate and contribute positively to the school community.
- DBS: An enhanced DBS check registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
