About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, assisting them with learning, personal development, and engagement in classroom activities. You will work closely with teachers and staff to ensure each student receives tailored support and opportunities to thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Implement personalised learning plans to support students’ academic and social development.
- Assist with classroom activities, providing one-to-one or small group support as required.
- Encourage independence, motivation, and confidence among students.
- Support behaviour management strategies and help maintain a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure holistic student support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
- Support students’ personal care needs when required, ensuring dignity and respect.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting students with special educational needs is preferred.
- Understanding of SEN strategies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
- A compassionate, patient, and professional approach to student support.
