Job description

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant in Feltham!

SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Autism Provision

Location: Feltham | West London
Payrate: £100–£115 per day
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Start: After Half Term

We are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a well-established specialist Autism school in Feltham, supporting pupils aged 4–19 with Autism (ASC) and complex learning needs.

This is not a mainstream school with a small SEN unit — this is a fully specialist environment designed specifically for pupils who benefit from:

  • Structured routines
  • High staff-to-pupil ratios
  • Communication-focused teaching
  • Sensory-aware environments
  • Personalised EHCP-led learning

The school has a strong reputation locally for its calm, nurturing atmosphere and highly supportive leadership team.

Why This School Stands Out

  • Purpose-built classrooms and sensory spaces
  • Clear communication strategies (visual timetables, structured approaches)
  • Consistent behaviour framework
  • Strong pastoral and therapy input
  • Long-standing SEN-trained staff team
  • Focus on independence, life skills and preparation for adulthood

Staff retention is strong because the school prioritises training, teamwork and realistic expectations.

The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

You will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Assist children and young people with Autism and additional needs
  • Support communication and emotional regulation
  • Reinforce structured classroom routines
  • Work closely with class teachers and specialist staff
  • Help pupils develop independence and life skills

This is a hands-on, rewarding role where patience, consistency and relationship-building are key.

Ideal Candidates

We welcome:

  • Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants
  • Support Workers / Care Workers
  • Autism support specialists
  • Psychology, Education or Youth-related graduates
  • Individuals seeking long-term SEN careers

Full-time commitment required. This is a long-term opportunity starting after half term.
